Thomas A. Tyler

Tom's interest in photography started with photojournalism in the 70s. Since that time, the camera has been a continual traveling companion. As a nature photographer, he has traveled extensively to all 50 states and 27 countries. In his photography, Tom strives to present a "shared view," combining his training in Arts and composition with an ability to convey the reality and beauty of all of God's creation. The most recent efforts have been focusing on the plains and plains animals in both America and Africa.
 

Tom is also President of ANSWERS, Inc., a St. Louis architecture firm with a focus on environmentalism. Tom received the AIA's Presidential Citation for contributions to the architectural profession in dealing with environmental concerns.
 

Tom lives a short distance from the Garden and photographs there extensively. 

Tom is President of ANSWERS, Inc., an architect and holds an NCARB Certificate. For over five years, Tom served the St. Louis Chapter AIA as a co-chair of its Environment Committee and was on the organizing committee of the USGBC St. Louis Chapter as well as one of its first officers. Tom has served as an Interiors Masterspec reviewer for which he received the AIA's "Presidential Citation" for service to the profession. In the early 90s Tom was instrumental in introducing the first environmental language into Masterspec.
 

Tom currently is the Advisory Board Chairman of the award-winning program of Interior Architecture at Kansas State University, serves on the Friends Board of Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis, MO. and has undertaken a project to educate 1,000,000 children about the rainforest. Tom has been spending time in the rainforest of Costa Rica. He is heading up an effort to educate children on the benefits of the rainforest, its preservation and impact, and importance to the planet.
